REX Baseball has a new manager! REX Baseball has hired Jeremiah Knackstedt to be the next field boss for Wabash Valley’s Own. The move comes just a little over a month after former coaches Tyler Wampler and Jeremy Lucas stepped down from their positions. REX General Manager Bruce Rosselli said about the hiring, “I'm pleased to announce the new field manager, Jeremiah Knackstedt. Jeremiah brings the experience of coaching, including coaching in college summer leagues, and playing pro ball. We look to have a strong team with the combined players already signed and who Jeremiah will bring to the club for the 2020 season.”
Knackstedt was a catcher in college. He caught for four years at Greenville University. After his collegiate career came to an end Knackstedt spent time in a professional league, the Frontier League. He was on contract with the River City Rascals. In 2014 he joined the Frontier League again, but this time as the hitting and catching coach with the Frontier Greys. In 2015 he became the catching and bench coach for the Gateway Grizzlies. This is Knacksted’s fourth year as a field manager in collegiate summer baseball and it is his second year in the Prospect League. Knackstedt enjoys developing players. Over the past twelve years he has been a private instructor for hitting and catching. When not in baseball Knackstedt enjoys spending time with his family, a wife and four children. Knackstedt said about joining the REX, “I am excited about the opportunity to lead the Rex for the 2020 season! The Rex have a rich history of putting together successful teams on a yearly basis. They have one of the finest facilities in the Prospect League, along with a great ownership group and a wonderful fan base! My goal is to bring in a group of guys that will compete at max effort on a daily basis in hopes of bringing another Prospect League Championship to Terre Haute."
REX Baseball is excited to have Jeremiah Knackstedt with us for the 2020 season. We are looking forward to the upcoming season and cannot wait for you to see Knackstedt in action. GO #REXNATION!
