FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – [October 2023] – Terre Haute REX Baseball has named Tony Rosselli the next Field Manager for the club in 2024. Rosselli comes with a background of elite collegiate baseball experience and professional baseball. He played college ball at Indiana State and started his professional career while playing for the REX mid-season signing with the USPBL leading him to play in for the Asian Winter ball league in Taiwan in 2017. Tony later signed with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association minor league from 2018-2020. In 2021 he played for the Milwaukee Milkmen, and Kane County Cougars.
REX Baseball is excited Assistant Coach Jacob Harden will return to the dugout next season with his energy and passion for the game. Coach Harden is in his 3rd year as Head Coach for the Linton High School Varsity Baseball program and lead the Miners to their first Regional Championship in program history in 2022.
“First off, I’d like to thank the Wilson Tobs for an amazing opportunity last summer leading their team. My experience from being both a player and a volunteer assistant coach at Indiana State under Coach Mitch Hannahs helped prepare me to play in the Coastal Plain League as a player & a head coach” Tony Rosselli said. “My plan is to have the same expectations as I would of any team, I get to be a part of, and I am grateful to be coming back to an organization I played for and back to my hometown. With that being said, there’s work to be done here. Winning a championship is not an easy task, a lot of things must go right to win it all. I plan on bringing a competitive nature with elite athletes both locally and across the nation to keep REX Baseball to that high standard it’s traditionally had.”
Tony Rosselli, a Terre Haute native from North Vigo High School, also had a standout career at Indiana State under coach Mitch Hannahs. Rosselli started 120 games at Indiana State where he batted at .290 with 86 runs batted in and 22 home runs throughout his time at Bob Warn Field. He also was a volunteer assistant coach throughout the 2022 season under Coach Hannahs, before heading to North Carolina last summer as Head Coach for the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plain League.
Rosselli is no stranger to summer baseball, he is a former REX player himself being part of the 2014 squad. The following two summers he played in the Coastal Plain League with the Edenton Steamers and won a Petitt Cup to add to his stacked resumé.
Rosselli owns his own business, Alpha Performance LLC, where he has trained notable local Wabash Valley athletes. When discussing the local talent, Rosselli mentioned, “I’ve been able to help train some of the local prospects in the Wabash Valley, my plan is to bring in that elite talent locally to represent the REX both at the mound and at the plate. As they say getting the band back together and representing REX Nation in the Prospect League.”
